Last night the Doobie and the Bandersnatch hosted CRATER, a duo from Seattle, Washington. They have been touring around the United States with MSMR and played their first ever college show here at Denison. The Bandersnatch was a great venue for the pair, who have played both big and small venues but bring spectacular energy the whole time. The band is composed of roomates Kessiah Gordon and Ceci Gomez. They met during their time at NYU, and their offstage friendship was made clear by their onstage chemistry. Ceci brought forth sweet vocals and synthy-piano which were paired with the harder sound of Kessiah’s electric guitar. They played hits such as Crater Head, Gross Relations, and Ain’t Right, all of which were well received by the students at the show. Their sound can go from bass-heavy to a more relaxed vibe, which made it easy for students to both dance before the stage and chill out on the couches. The band is relatively new so their set list was a quick but riveting 45 minutes. The girls have an album coming out in February of next year, and we’re excited to see how they continue their great and unique sound. If you missed them – make sure to look out for them on their next tour and check out their latest releases on soundcloud! (www.soundcloud.com/crater)

Make sure to come out to the Bandersnatch on March 12 at 9:30 PM to check out Vundabar. Vundabar is an up and coming band from Boston, MA who sounds similar to that of The Pixies with the a twinge of Mac DeMarco. Should be a rockin show. Good vibes will a be a guaranteed.
