Listen: Incubus – “Adolescents”
The alternative rock group Incubus, who’s certainly seen their peak, released their first material since their 2009 greatest hits album Monuments and Melodies, and first new material since 2006’s Light Grenades earlier this month. The track is called “Adolescents” and it’s off their upcoming album If Not Now, When?, set to hit stores July 12th. According to the band, ”True to the Incubus legacy, this record is nothing like its predecessor, but still maintains the quintessential Incubus vibe.”
Incubus’ 35-year-old frontman, Brandon Boyd recently told Noisecreep: “As you move into your mid-30’s and beyond, you start noticing how not invincible you are. You start to really kind of understand the true nature of your fallibility, of your ability to break and break down. What I’ve been trying to do is filter a lot of those things into songwriting.” I’m guessing we can expect a humbler, more introspective album than we’ve seen from them in the past.
