Video: TV On The Radio – “Will Do”

In this futuristic, sad, and possibly-hopeful video, TV On The Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe uses virtual reality glasses of sorts to see how good he had it. I’m a little confused though, throughout this video numerous other people (other members of TV On The Radio) also look through this contraption, but they see their fantasies. One sees himself playing the guitar, another in a wide open meadow, but as for Tunde, he sees what he’s already had. He relives the past, visualizing his lost love. So does this thing materialize your fantasies, or allow you to observe your memories? I guess it’s whatever the viewer wants. Either way, I’d like to get my hands on one. Check out the visually stunning video for TV On The Radio’s “Will DO” above.

Also, this Dugan O’Neal directed music video will be accompanied by 9 other videos in TV On The Radio’s film Nine Types Of Light. This film, which shares its title with the album, is simply a compilation of each song’s music video. And yes, that does mean these guys made a video for every track on the record. Pretty neat/conceptual stuff. Check out a NY Times video for more on this.
